Ruby Graham
A Lubbock native, Ruby Graham started her musical career at the age of 5. She was first a student of the piano. As she grew older she developed a love for string music and studied violin as a member of the Hardwick Elementary Orchestra. Later she developed a deep passion for the cello which she played in the Mackenzie Junior High and Coronado High School Orchestras.
She has studied privately under cellists Tido Jansen and Alejos Anaya, and pianists Linda King, Hye-Jean Choi, and Mark Puckett.
Mrs. Graham has performed in many different local ensembles including the Lubbock Yourth Symphony Orchestra (1999-2002 as student, 2002-present as alumni/guest), the Abilene Intercollegiate Orchestra (2002-2003) and The Staccato Dots Quartet (founding member).
Her love for music and education lead her to study at Hardin-Simmons University. During this time she taught strings at Jefferson Middle School in Abilene, TX. Mrs. Graham is also the string instrument specialist at Tarpley Music Company in Lubbock, TX.
