WTSA is a collaboration between several Lubbock Area string teachers to join forces in bringing high quality instruction to string students of all ages and levels in Lubbock/West Texas Area. This is an organization which will provide standard classical training and encourage embracing multiple genres of music. The program is structured in the manner of a Pre-College/Suzuki Program.
In addition to providing string students high level training, the program will also be an open field lab for University Students anticipating a career in Education. All program teachers are required to keep a performing and teaching presence in the community in addition to regularly attending regional or national conferences to supplement their own teaching skills.
WTSA anticipates offering group classes, lessons, summer workshops, all region training workshops and solo and ensemble events. Students and teachers will be performing several outreach concerts in addition to a faculty concert series. Check the web site for constant updates and the special events column will highlight those that are next on the calendar.
